American Airlines has launched a new code-share agreement with Brazil-based TAM Airlines, increasing American’s connectivity in Brazil. Customers will now be able to book tickets on code-share flights today for travel starting August 22.
Under the agreement, the two airlines will code-share on each other’s flights between the US and Brazil. AA customers will have access to TAM flights from Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo to eight destinations across Brazil, including Fortaleza, Natal and Vitoria.
The agreement will complement AA’s upcoming flights to Brazil. The airline is launching flights from Miami to Curitiba and Porto Alegre from November 21 and from Los Angeles to Sao Paulo from December 16.
TAM’s customers will also have access to American Airlines flights from Miami, New York and Orlando to 25 cities in the US, including Atlanta, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.
TAM and LAN airlines together form the LATAM airline group, Latin America’s largest airline group.
