Abu Dhabi International Airport in the UAE has installed ‘GoSleep’ sleeping pods that allow passengers to quickly catch a nap without any disturbance.
The ‘GoSleep’ pod is a chair that converts into a private flat bed with a partial or fully enclosed sliding shade that isolates the user from noise, light and crowds.
The airport has installed 10 such sleeping pods in Terminal 3 and in the Al Dhabi Lounge in Terminal 1. Thirty-five more are scheduled to be installed later this year.
The airport also plans to upgrade the chairs to include Internet access, secure storage space and power outlets for charging electronic devices. The chairs/pods are available for use at the rate of AED 45/hour ($12.25/hour USD) with a credit card.
