Dublin-based Irish low-cost airline Aer Arann, which also operates the regional services of Air Lingus as Aer Lingus Regional, took delivery of its first ATR 72-600 aircraft recently. The aircraft has a passenger capacity of 68-74 seats and will be branded as Aer Lingus Regional.
Aer Arann has ordered eight ATR 72-600s for a total price of about €144 million ($188 million). The remaining seven aircraft will be delivered in the next 11 months and will replace the airline’s ATR 72-200 and ATR 42-300 aircraft.
Aer Arann, which operates nearly 550 flights per week across 23 routes in Ireland, the UK and France, aims to double its passenger numbers to nearly 2 million in the next five years.
