Air New Zealand is gearing up to have some fun with the upcoming Hobbit movie trilogy.
The movies were filmed extensively throughout New Zealand. The airline is highlighting this fact by painting its planes with landscapes and characters from the movie.
A Boeing 777-300 is to be painted for the first movie, ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.’ This will be followed by another paint-job on a 777-200 for ‘The Hobbit: There And Back Again.’
Other promotional plans include having the cabin crew wear movie-character wardrobes and pre-flight safety checks of hobbits, elves and wizards.
Peter Jackson’s first movie in the trilogy will have its premiere in Wellington, NZ in late November 2012.
