Air New Zealand has said that it remains committed to Spaceseat, its specially designed, award-winning premium economy seat, despite dropping it from some of its upcoming aircraft, in an Australian Business Travellerarticle in June 2013.
The airline has decided not to install the spacious Spaceseat in its upcoming Boeing 787 Dreamliner as well as the refit of its Boeing 777-200s.
Spaceseat, developed by US design firm Ideo for Air New Zealand, offers excellent space and privacy. It is installed in the airline’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The Boeing 777-300s are used by the airline mostly on routes from North America.
The Boeing 777-300 premium economy cabin recently swept the premium economy awards including the awards for best premium economy seat at the 2013 SkyTrax Global Airlines Awards.
