Air New Zealand has announced that it will discontinue its flights on the Hong Kong-London route on March 4, 2013. The airline took this step as it has failed to make any profit on the route since it launched the service in 2006. Air NZ is also entering into a codeshare agreement with Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific on January 31, 2013 and will continue to operate daily flights to Hong Kong. The airline will also continue to operate its flights to London via Los Angeles.
