Air New Zealand plans to upgrade its eight Boeing 777-200 aircraft with new seats and upgraded in-flight entertainment systems. The new Panasonic eXlite in-flight entertainment systems will have higher resolutions and touchscreens. The airline will install lie-flat “cuddle class” skycouches in the economy section and also upgrade seats in other classes as well.
The 777-200 craft is used on flights from Auckland to Australia and other international destinations. The upgrade will cost about $100 million and begin in 2014.
