Airbus has unveiled plans for a new seat layout for its Airbus A380 “Superjumbo” aircraft with a total seating capacity of 558 passengers, compared to 498 passengers at present.
The layout offers 10 first class mini-suites, 84 business class seats on the upper deck and a total of 464 economy seats spread across both decks.
Airbus has also proposed a seating layout with even greater capacity- 598 seats – by replacing first class with five more rows of economy seating.
The new proposed layouts were unveiled at the Airbus Innovation Days international media conference in Toulouse, as reported by Australian Business Traveller.
No airline has ordered any aircraft with the increased-capacity seating layout so far.
