Air Travel to Australia – V Australia Expands

V Australia launched new service for air travel to Australia with its inaugural Melbourne – Los Angeles flight on December 2.  The twice weekly flights, departing from LAX on Tuesday and Sunday evenings and returning from Melbourne on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, will provide a fresh alternative to both vacationers and business travelers headed to or departing from Victoria and the southern regions in Australia.

The boutique airline’s flights on new Boeing 777-300 aircraft feature three cabin classes – economy, premium economy and business.   Travelers in the International Business class will be assured of a good rest with fully lie-flat beds and excellent signature meals designed by Australia’s celebrity chef, Luke Mangan.

Travelers in premium economy can enjoy expansive seat and leg room.  All classes have access to state of the art seat back entertainment systems. Additionally, the plane is equipped with mood lighting, two in-flight bars, piped music in the bathrooms and authentic Australian decor to make air travel to Australia more comfortable and enjoyable.

V Australia began service from Los Angeles to Sydney in late February 2009 and expanded to include flights from Los Angeles to Brisbane in April.  The international airline is part of the Virgin Blue Group of Airlines, with flights within Australia operated by Virgin Blue and flights to New Zealand from Australia operated by Pacific Blue.

This is a great time to fly Downunder – air travel to Australia has become much more affordable this year with the increased competition on flights to Australia from the US.
