The lounge scene at Sydney Airport will see big changes in the coming year with planned launches, updating and closure of many lounges.
Virgin Australia and its partner airline Etihad are scheduled to open joint lounges at Sydney’s airport in “early 2013.” However, the two airlines, which do not have any lounge at Sydney and use Air New Zealand’s Koru lounge, have reportedly still not been able to secure space at the airport.
Singapore Airlines plans to give its Sydney lounge a radical makeover in mid-2013 while Malaysia Airlines may close its lounge at Sydney as it plans to use the lounge facilities of its oneworld alliance partners such as Qantas.
