Low-cost carrier JetBlue is known for being perhaps the most innovative US airline. Over the years, it has pioneered a number of customer-friendly initiatives such as seatback TVs and gourmet snacks, which were later copied by its competitors. The airline underwent significant changes in its short 13-year history and is now more of a hybrid full-service/low-cost carrier than a true low-cost carrier.
The airline has lately struggled to continuously innovate and even lagged behind other carriers in the firld of in-cabin Wifi introduction. However, JetBlue’s late adoption of higher-bandwidth Ka-band based in-flight Internet connectivity instead of the Ku-band solutions other airlines adopted earlier may turn out to be the better option over time.
