Airfares to China
An update to our posting on airfares to China from Chicago. American Airlines had been offering airline tickets to China on its new non-stop service to Beijing from Chicago scheduled to begin on April 26.
This service has been postponed and is now tentatively rescheduled to commence on May 25, with the inaugural flight from Chicago to Beijing, and May 26 for the first return flight.

If you purchased airfares to China on American's new non-stop service from Chicago to Beijing in early May, your plans may be delayed.

Citing difficulties with the Chinese aviation authorities in securing acceptable landing and take off slots at the Beijing international airport, American is confident it will receive the landing and departure times it requires by late May.
The airline has been contacting all travelers who purchased their airfares to China for flights prior to May 25 to advise them of the situation and offer them alternative flights on other routes, a full refund or to reschedule their flights for a later date.
The launch date for the new non-stop service between Chicago and Beijing has been postponed three times as American awaits a decision from the Chinese on its landing slot. If you are searching for airfares to China and considered the new American Airlines route, you might want to delay your purchase until the flights are definitely in operation – or seek alternative cheap Asia flights.
