Air New Zealand has launched a Boeing 777-300ER with livery featuring the upcoming The Hobbit movies. The airline is currently engaged in a number of promotional events and activities to coincide with the mid-December release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey – the first movie of the trilogy.
The movie, directed by Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson, has been exclusively shot in New Zealand and the airline is seeking to capitalize on this fact.
In early November, the airline launched a safety video based on the movie. The video has received nearly 10 million hits on YouTube so far.
