Many airports are experimenting with amenities aimed at making layovers less boring – and even pleasant. The trend, probably, started with the opening of Singapore Changi Airport’s rooftop swimming pool in the mid ’90s. The airport today offers amenities including a 24-hour complimentary movie theater, free gaming rooms, foot massage, napping stations and even an indoor slide.
Other famous off-beat airport amenities around the world include the ice skating rink at Incheon Airport, classical piano lessons at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport and the nine-hole golf course at Hong Kong International airport.
