Alaska Airlines has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737-900ER aircraft. The airline ordered a total of 38 such 181-seat aircraft which will be delivered by 2017. The Boeing 737-900ERs, which will become the most fuel-efficient aircraft operated by the airline, feature Boeing’s Sky Interior with large overhead bins, mood lighting and custom-designed spacious seats. The Recaro built seats have 3-inch recline in economy, six-way adjustable headrests and comfortable but slimmer seatbacks. The aircraft are expected to operate on Alaska’s transcontinental and Hawaii flights.
