Low-cost airline Allegiant Air has announced a major expansion with 18 new non-stop flights including 10 flights to new destinations.
The 10 new Allegiant destinations are Clarksburg, West Virginia; Charlottesville, Virginia; Concord, North Carolina; Islip/Long Island MacArthur, New York; Manhattan, Kansas; Newburgh/Stewart, New York; Portsmouth, New Hampshire; Oklahoma City; Syracuse, New York; and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Most of the new flights will connect these cities to either of 3 destinations in Florida – Tampa Bay, Orlando or Punta Gorda.
The new Allegiant flights to New York City will operate from Long Island MacArthur Airport (from Punta Gorda) and Stewart International Airport (from Tampa Bay). The 2 airports are located about 50-70 miles from Midtown Manhattan.
The launch of the new flights will be spread over the late October-November-December 2013 period. After the latest expansion, Allegiant’s network will include 99 cities in the US.
