Korea based Asiana Airlines, whose aircraft was recently involved in a major accident at San Francisco International Airport, has announced that it will take steps to improve pilot training procedures, according to media reports.
The airline has also said that it will specially focus on training procedures “when a pilot converts to a jet from a different manufacturer.”
The pilot involved in the San Francisco crash was landing a Boeing 777 at the San Francisco Airport for the first time. The pilot had over 10,000 overs of experience with Airbus aircraft but just 43 hours of experience with Boeing 777 aircraft.
An investigation into the crash, which left three passengers dead, is underway by the US National Transportation Safety Board.
