A number of Australian investors including former advertising entrepreneur John Singleto and financier Mark Carnegie are reportedly involved in a take-over bid for the iconic Australian airline, Qantas. Former Qantas CEO Geoff Dixon and its former finance chief Peter Gregg have also been linked with this bid.
Qantas’ share price is trading at historical lows at present, which makes it vulnerable to a hostile takeover. An earlier takeover bid for the airline in 2007 by a consortium led by Macquarie Bank had failed.
