Austrian Airlines, a member of Star Alliance and the Lufthansa Group, is installing new fully-flat business class seats in its Boeing 767 and 777 aircraft used on long-haul flights. The new seats are similar to the ones used on Lufthansa Group partners Brussels Airlines and SWISS.
With integrated massage functions, an adjustable lumbar cushion and up to 60 inches of legroom between the rows, travelers will be insured a comfortable area to relax during their flight.
At night the seats convert to a horizontal bed with plenty of room to stretch out – the bed is almost 6½ feet long. Austrian’s business class “turn-down” service transforms the seat with crisp bed linen, a warm blanket and fluffy pillow into a cozy bed for a good sleep.
The business class seats will be arranged in a 1-2-1 layout. Each single seat along the side of the plane has direct aisle access. These side seats will alternate with one row having the seat next to the window and a built-in table between the seat and aisle. The next row will have the table at the side of the plane and the seat at the aisle.
This seating configuration allows passengers traveling together to be able to sit next to each other in the middle section of the plane.
Austrian flies non-stop to Chicago, New York, Washington DC and Toronto.
