Austrian Airlines is significantly expanding its flights to North America as part of its summer flight schedule for 2014. This includes aircraft upgrades on flights to Vienna from Chicago and Washington DC and launching five flights per week from Newark, New Jersey to Vienna.
The flights from Newark will be launched in July 2014 and use Boeing 767 aircraft. Newark is a new destination for the airline. Austrian also operates daily flights to Vienna from New York’s JFK.
In May 2014, the flights to Vienna from Chicago will be upgraded to greater capacity Boeing 777s and the frequency will be increased to daily from five-a-week at present. The daily flights from Washington D.C. to Vienna will be similarly upgraded to Boeing 777s in July 2014. The new aircraft will have 90 seats more than the Boeing 767s used on the routes at present.
Austrian will operate a total of 33 non-stop flights per week from Vienna to North America during its summer 2014 schedule.
