Long lines at airports can be an instant mood dampener for travelers. What’s Busy, an online service that currently provides information about waiting times at museums, DMV offices and national parks, launched a service to inform travelers about waiting times at US airports in September 2013.
What’s Busydetermines likely wait times at various airport checkpoints through an algorithm that keeps track of flight schedule data (through Flight Stats) as well as the number of passengers coming/going.
The algorithm also considers factors such as arrival patterns of passengers and the time taken to process passengers.
This information is used to create alerts about suitable times to arrive at an airport. What’s Busy currently works only in the US.
