British Airways will become the first airline to operate direct flights between London and Austin, Texas, with flights beginning in March 2014. The flights will be operated using the airline’s new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft in a three-cabin layout.
Initially, the airline will operate five flights to Austin, the capital of Texas, per week and increase the frequency to daily beginning on May 5 according the company’s press release.
British Airways currently flies to Houston and Dallas from London.
On September 1, the first intercontinental flight of British Airways’ new Dreamliner landed at Canada’s Toronto airport with Dreamliner flights from New York to London scheduled to begin this October.
Over the next four years, the airline intends to increase its Dreamliner 787-8 fleet to 24 planes, with an additional 18 slated for delivery by 2023.
