British Airways’ first Boeing 787 Dreamliner arrived at the airline’s hub at London Heathrow Airport on June 27.
The airline will launch its first Dreamliner flight on September 1 on the London Heathrow – Toronto route, followed by flights on the London Heathrow – Newark, New York route from October 1. Bookings are now open for the flights.
British Airways has ordered a total of 24 Boeing 787 aircraft that will be delivered by 2017. It also plans to induct the larger 787 variant – 787-10 – in the future.
The 787 aircraft offers greater cabin comfort through reduced engine noise levels, greater cabin pressure and an increased level of humidity that leads to less dry cabins than other aircraft. The aircraft also offers significant fuel savings for the airlines.
