British Airways will soon become the first airline in Europe to operate two of the latest game changing aircraft in the aviation world – the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
The airline will take the delivery of its first two 787s on June 26 and 27, followed by the delivery of its first A380 on July 4.
BA has already announced Los Angeles as the inaugural destination of its A380 flights with the London-LAX flights scheduled to commence from October 15. Dreamliner routes are yet to be announced.
British Airways has ordered a total of 12 Airbus A380s, 24 Boeing 787s as well as six Boeing 777-300ERs for delivery in the next four years. The airline will will induct 22 of these new long-haul aircraft in its fleet in the coming year.
“Over the next 12 months, we will take delivery of new long-haul aircraft at an average rate of one every two weeks,” said BA’s CEO Keth Williams.
