Southwest Airlines, known for its “no-fee” policy, has no plans to charge any fees for checked luggage and carry-ons in 2013. However, the airline’s CEO has refused to rule out a baggage fee in the future.
Even though Southwest does not charge additional fees for up to two pieces of checked luggage and other essential amenities, it has recently introduced paid preferential boarding options such as the $10 EarlyBird Check-in and the recently introduced $40 earliest boarding option purchasable at departure gates.
