Bangkok’s Don Muang Airport, the secondary international airport of the Thai capital after the new Suvarnabhumi airport, will be getting a new terminal by 2016.
The new terminal, Terminal Two, will be developed to attract more low-cost airlines. At present, low-cost carriers that use the Don Muang Airport include Nok Air, Thai AirAsia, AirAsia, Indonesia AirAsia and One-Two-Go Orient Thai .
THAI and Bangkok Airways are the only domestic Thai airlines operating from Suvarnabhumi airport.
Work on the new terminal is expected to begin later in 2013.
