Many people suffer from an irrational fear of flying (Aerophobia or Aviophobia). Such individuals tend to become overly anxious during flights and show anxiety-related physical symptoms such as breathing difficulties and increased heart rates. Many even avoid flying altogether. British Airways conducts a special course named Flying with Confidence for helping people with Aviophobia overcome their fears about flying.
The course features 40-minute supervised flights with motivational on-board speakers and supportive cabin crew. The courses operate from Gatwick, Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow airports and prices range from £249 to £279 ($400-$450 US).
