British Airways is offering a special five-course tasting menu for passengers in First Class on its recently launched Airbus A380 flights between Los Angeles and London Heathrow. Passengers in Club (business) Class will also be treated to new menu creations, but with reduced choices.
The five-course tasting menu and afternoon tea selections have been created by London’s Langham Hotel.
The tasting menu for First Class on the London to Los Angeles flight includes poached lobster with Charentais melon, mango and shiso salad; chicken tea with goji berries; braised pork belly and cheek with heritage carrots, peaches, pak choi and lemongrass and lime sauce; seared scallops with pea puree, asparagus and truffle sauce and Praline profiteroles with quince.
The menu on the return flight (LAX to London) includes chicken and morel galantine with spiced tomato chutney; tomato tea with basil; braised veal cheek native lobster ravioli with grilled baby gem and japonaise dressing; and cheesecake, shortbread and fruit compote.
The afternoon tea menu served only on the London to LAX leg offers egg and mustard cress mayonnaise in a bridge roll, hibiscus and blackcurrant jelly, drizzle cake with lime foam, mango and passion-fruit dome with almond sponge cake, English rose macaroon with raspberry and lime jelly, Valrhona chocolate brownie, plain scone, and raisin and orange scone with clotted cream and organic strawberry preserve.
The menu is accompanied with a choice of 3 champagnes – Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle, Henriot Vintage Brut 2007 and Balfour Brut Rose.
