British Airways launched a new in-flight entertainment channel featuring content from the HBO network on its long-haul flights on April 3rd.
HBO is a recognized brand known for its critically acclaimed hit television shows such as those currently airing, including Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, Girls, True Detective, Looking and Curb Your Enthusiasm – all of which will be included in British Airways’ channel.
The channel will also include a number of movies, with the available content selection refreshed frequently.
British Airways offers personal 10.4 inch flat screens and noise-cancelling headphones on its Club World long-haul business class cabins.
Movie lovers flying on British Airways can also plan ahead online through the British Airways website, which allows users to plan their in-flight entertainment before they fly and preview playlists of on-board audio, TV and movies.
Passengers can also download a schedule planner and share content on social media.
British Airways recently launched a new online tool called ‘My Flightpath’ which allows customers to maintain their own personal travelogue.
The new feature available on the website can be accessed by all members of the British Airways Executive Club program. It displays a timeline of all a user’s flights since the day of joining the program and highlights her/his traveled destinations on a map.
My Flightpath also enables customers to find out how many miles they have flown on British Airways since joining the Executive Club and how many times around the world that would amount to.
On March 30, British Airways launched its largest ever summer schedule – with new routes and more seats to summer vacation destinations from London’s Gatwick, Heathrow and London City airports.
New destinations in the summer schedule include Austin (Texas), Mykonos and Santorini in Greece, and Mediterranean destinations including Malta, Porto, Malaga and Faro.
Flights from Austin to Heathrow and return will operate five times a week and use the airline’s new Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Also on March 30, the airline launched an extra daily flight to London Heathrow from New York’s JFK Airport – upping its total daily return flights on this route to nine.
