British Airways has launched a new tea blend, developed in partnership with UK-based tea company Twinings, on all its flights from February 1, 2013.
The new tea blend consists of a mix of Assam, Kenyan and high grown Ceylon tea.The Assam tea gives a full-bodied blend, the Kenyan tea gives it strength and lift while the Ceylon tea adds flavor, according to the airline and the blend developers.
The blend is also optimized for low-pressure aircraft cabin conditions. It was developed on the basis of ground and in-air tastings by a panel of customers, cabin crew and tea experts.
British Airways offers a wide selection of in-flight teas, especially in its premium classes. These include Twinings Whole Leaf Silky Pyramids range, Earl Grey, Mint Humbug, Jasmine Pearls, Red Berry Fool and Honeycomb Chamomile in First Class. In Club World, the offered teas include Cranberry & Elderflower, Chamomile and Peppermint infusions, Earl Grey, English Breakfast and Green Tea.
