In an expression of confidence in Boeing’s ability to resolve the safety issues with its new aircraft, British Airways has placed an order for 18 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The aircraft, to be delivered between 2017 and 2021, will replace the airline’s Boeing 747-400 planes.
International Airlines Group (IAG), which owns British Airways as well as Spanish airline Iberia, has also reached an agreement with Boeing that may lead to an order of 787s for Iberia after the airline’s restructuring.
The British Airways’ order is in addition to its existing order of 24 Dreamliners.
