Hong Kong based airline Cathay Pacific is adding Premium Economy class to its flights between Auckland and Hong Kong from October 15, 2013.
The airline will add 28 premium economy seats in a 2-3-2 layout to its Airbus A340-300 aircraft flying on the Auckland-Hong Kong route. Premium Economy will offer greater comfort, extra legroom and a better selection of in-flight food than economy.
The 19.5 inch wide seats (compared to 18 inches in economy) offer 38-inch seat pitch (six inches more than economy) with an 8-inch recline. The premium economy seat also comes with a 10.6-inch in-flight entertainment display (9 inch screen in economy), a power outlet and a USB charging port.
Other Cathay Pacific premium economy features include a dedicated check-in counter and a 25 kg checked baggage allowance.
