Boston will receive a boost to its international status this summer when Panama-based Copa Airlines, a Star Alliance airline, launches daily non-stop flights to Panama City – its main hub. The flights, scheduled to begin in July 2013, will operate with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Boston’s Logan Airport will be the eighth US destination for Copa Airlines which already offers flights from Chicago O’Hare, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York JFK, Orlando and Washington Dulles.
The newly inducted Boeing 737-800 planes used for the Boston service will feature Boeing’s new Sky Interior.
The new service will provide passengers flying from Boston access to other Latin and South American destinations covered by Copa Airlines, such as Sao Paulo and Lima, through Copa’s Panama City hub.
