Many new airports, including Copenhagen’s Kastrup Airport, are incorporating distinguishing features from their local cultures to improve travelers’ experiences.
The Copenhagen airport features a stunning airport lounge called CPH Apartment that has interiors inspired by Copenhagen’s classical luxury apartments with features such as stucco ceilings, Scandinavian furniture and herringbone parquet floors. The lounge is available free of cost for premium passengers of Air France, KLM, Qatar Airways, Emirates and Gulf Air and US$30 for other travelers – a small charge if you’ll be spending time in the airport waiting for a connection.
But, you might, instead want to explore the deli, Foodmarket, another unique concept at the airport. It is operated by food and beverage operator SSP in partnership with several of Copenhagen’s best restaurateurs. Foodmarket offers nutritional, fresh organic food such as soups, hot wraps, salads, juices, freshly baked bread, cookies and more sourced from carefully selected suppliers.
If you find yourself in Copenhagen’s airport during your European travels, you’ll find some exciting options to be able to experience a taste of the local culture.
