SkyTeam airline alliance plans to open a dedicated lounge for its passengers at the Sydney Airport before the end of 2013.
According to Australian Business Traveller, the Sydney SkyTeam lounge will be have a design similar to that of SkyTeam’s flagship lounge at London’s Heathrow Terminal 4. The lounge will be branded as SkyTeam rather than any of the individual member airlines.
First and business class passengers of the member airlines as well as travelers with top-tier SkyTeam Elite Plus status will be eligible to use the lounge.
SkyTeam is also opening a dedicated lounge at Istanbul later in June and in Beijing in early 2014.
SkyTeam members China Southern, China Eastern, Delta Airlines, Korean Air, Vietnam Airlines and Garuda Indonesia – the latest member scheduled to join the alliance in March 2014 – operate from Sydney Airport.
