Delta will stop transferring the checked baggage of its passengers who have connecting flights with other airlines beginning on January 15. The practice, known as “interlining baggage,” allows the transfer of passenger luggage between airlines when the passengers have connecting flights. This saves time as the passenger does not have to collect and re-check luggage at the connecting airport.
With the new policy, passengers will have to make sure that they have enough time to pick-up and re-check luggage with the airline for their next flight.
