The first phase of Delta’s new refurbished Terminal 4 at New York’s JFK Airport officially opened on May 24, 2013.
The $1.4 billion redevelopment of Terminal 4 adds nine new and seven renovated international gates, renovated check-in areas including a dedicated Sky Priority check-in, a centralized security checkpoint, new dining and retail options and improved baggage handling through an in-line baggage system. Customs and Border Protection, baggage claim and re-check facilities have also been upgraded.
The terminal also features a new 24,000-square-foot flagship Delta Sky Club lounge with an outdoor terrace – the Sky Deck.
Delta’s partner airline Virgin Atlantic Airways also operates from Terminal 4.
The second phase of Terminal 4 redevelopment plan will add 11 more gates to Terminal 4 Concourse B. Construction on the second phase is expected to begin immediately and be completed in summer 2015.
