Delta Air Lines, which bought a 49 percent stake in UK-based Virgin Atlantic in December, has announced plans to expand its US flights at London’s Heathrow.
Delta is launching a third daily flight between Heathrow and Atlanta from March 31. This will be the ninth daily US-bound nonstop Delta flight to Heathrow. Other daily non-stop flights depart from New York’s JFK, Detroit, Minneapolis-St Paul and Boston.
Delta is also adding new amenities including fully flat-bed seats in Business Class and on-board Wifi on all its US flights to Heathrow.
The two airlines – Delta and Virgin Atlantic – expect to jointly offer 21 daily flights between London Heathrow and the US by the end of 2013.
