For the third time in 2013, a US airline has failed to raise domestic airfares after being unsuccessful in mustering support from other airlines. The latest hike attempt came from Delta last Wednesday, when it raised domestic fares by $4 to $10 round-trip. However, it rolled back the hike after no other airline matched the fare increase.
Earlier two airfare hike attempts by United in early January also failed after the hikes were not widely matched by other airlines.
