Delta’s multi-billion dollar 9-gate extension of Terminal 4 at JFK Airport, New York is on schedule and will open in May 2013.
After the facility opens, Terminal 4’s extensive retail and dining zone will move to the post-security area from the current pre-security area.
This will be good news for travelers who would like to shop and dine at leisure without concern for backed up security lines.
It’s not great, however, for people who would like to enjoy a before-flight meal with family and friends who aren’t traveling.
Features of Delta’s new terminal include:
- Built-in power outlets at 75 percent of all seats,
- An in-line automatic baggage system instead of the current manual tagging based system,
- a 24,000 square foot Skyclub with day-long-use purchase options for non-SkyTeam members.
