British low-cost carrier easyJet will launch year-round flights from London’s Gatwick Airport to the island of Jersey, a popular vacation destination in the English Channel, beginning in 2014.
The airline will launch thrice-daily flights between London Gatwick and Jersey from 30 March 2104. The three flights will be scheduled in the morning, afternoon and evening in each direction.
The flights will be operated using 156-seat Airbus A319 aircraft. easyJet currently operates year-round flights to Jersey from London Southend, Liverpool and Glasgow airports as well as seasonal (summer) flights from Newcastle.
easyJet purchased 25 additional slots at Gatwick Airport from Flybe which allows it to expand its flights to Jersey.
Jersey combines stunning landscapes, sandy beaches and a unique culture that combines its English and French traditions. Its historic sites date back to over 250,000 years ago; one of the popular visitor attractions is an interpretive display of the German occupation during World War II housed in a tunnel complex built during the occupation.
