Dubai (UAE) based carrier Emirates, which has a comprehensive partnership with Australian airline Qantas, has announced plans for Airbus A380 flights from its hub in Dubai to the city of Perth in Western Australia.
Emirates operates 2 daily A380 flights on the Dubai-Sydney route and a daily A380 flight on the Dubai-Melbourne route as of June 2013.
The airline is also launching A380 flights on the Dubai-Brisbane route from October 1, 2013.
Perth Airport is currently undergoing a $700 million renovation that includes the addition of a boarding gate capable of handling A380 aircraft.
Under the present schedule, Emirates operates thrice-daily flights to Perth using Boeing 777 aircraft.
