More and more airlines are planning to issue tablets to cabin crews. Emirates will introduce about 1,000 HP-manufactured Windows 8 tablets on its aircraft in 2013 to allow the cabin crew to easily offer instant upgrades to eligible passengers.
The tablets will also allow the cabin crew to identify frequent fliers, personalize greetings, note food preferences and gather feedback.
British Airways is in the process of introducing a similar iPad powered service for use by the cabin crew.
American Airlines also plans to issue 17,000 tablets for all its flight attendants.
