UAE-based airline Etihad announced it will launch daily non-stop flights between its hub in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi and Los Angeles from June 1, 2014, subject to regulatory approvals.
The Etihad flights will give travelers flying from the largest city on US West Coast easy access to 25 destinations in the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent connected by Etihad with Abu Dhabi.
Etihad is known for its award-winning customer friendly services such as an on-board nanny service for families traveling with kids.
Etihad will use a three cabin ultra-long range Boeing 777-200LR aircraft for the Los Angeles to Abu Dhabi flights. The aircraft will seat 237 passengers in 8 Diamond First Class suites, 40 Pearl Business Class flatbed seats, and 189 Coral Economy Class seats.
Los Angeles will be the fourth destination of Etihad in the United States after Chicago, New York and Washington D.C.
Etihad Airways has had a comprehensive code share agreement with American Airlines since September 2009. It is expected these code-share flights will be available as add-on flights to LAX for travelers from cities served by American.
