Finnair has been named the safest airline in the world according to the ranking released by the European Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Centre (JADEC). Air New Zealand was at the second place while Cathay Pacific was at the third place, followed by Emirates and Etihad at fourth and fifth places respectively.
No US airline was in the top ten. Taiwan’s Eva Air, Portugal’s TAP, China’s Hainan Airlines, Virgin Australia and British Airways made up the remaining top ten. The JADEC examines major air crashes around the world and maintains a crash records database.
