Continental Airlines is on the move to expanding its flights with the launch of daily nonstop flights to Munich from Newark.
Operating with a Boeing 767-200ER aircraft, the Continental flight will depart Newark at 5:30 pm, arriving in Munich at 7:40 am the next day. The return Continental flight departs Munich at 9:20 am and returns to Newark shortly after noon the same day.
The new service complements that of Lufthansa, one of Continental’s code share partners in the Star Alliance. Lufthansa’s non-stop flights to Munich depart Newark at 8:10 pm, arriving at 10:10 am the next day. The return Lufthansa flight departs Munich at 3:20 pm and lands in Newark at 6:20 pm.
A quick check of pricing for Continental’s flights to Munich on Orbitz and cheaptickets.com showed pricing in the high summer season at almost $1,360 per ticket. By comparison, AirBank’s airline consolidator pricing for Continental’s fare is only $1,237 per ticket, including all taxes and fees.
If you’re searching for cheap flights to Europe, and specifically flights to Munich, consider the non-stop choices. The benefits – convenience, shorter flight times, less chance of losing luggage or missing connections – far outweigh the savings on most flights with multiple connections.
