Frankfurt Airport has opened six smoking lounges in the post-security/transit areas of the airport.
Smokers can relax in these smoking lounges while waiting for their flights in comfortable seats and enjoy traditional cigarettes as well as the new e-cigarettes without the risk of disturbing any non-smokers. The lounges offer bright and friendly ambiance and a non-asphyxiating air quality through the design and use of special ventilation.
The smoking lounges are located at Terminal 1 in Pier A near Gates A52 and A66, in Pier B near Gates B23 and B43, and in Pier Z near Gates Z52 and Z66.
The lounges can be used free of charge and around the clock. Four additional smoking lounges are currently being planned.
The lounges have been developed in partnership with the JTI tobacco company, owners of the Camel cigarette brand outside the US.
Frankfurt Airport, which has been smoke-free since 2008, also offers smoking booths to passengers at locations around the airport. The glass smoking booths continue to be available in all terminal areas including Terminal 2.
