Garuda Indonesia has announced that it will launch non-stop flights between London’s Gatwick Airport and the Indonesian capital Jakarta from March 2014.
The flights will continue onward to Sydney, enabling passengers to fly from London to Sydney with a brief transit stop in Jakarta.
The airline is expected to operate five London-Jakarta-Sydney flights a week using its new Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft.
Garuda’s 777s will offer eight first-class suites, 38 business-class seats and 268 seats in economy.
Business class features include fully-flat bed seats, direct aisle access from each seat, 73-inch seat pitch and individual in-flight entertainment systems with 15-inch touch screen displays.
The aircraft will also offer in-flight WiFi Internet and GSM cellular connectivity.
