Garuda Indonesia, the flag carrier of Indonesia, announced that it will join the SkyTeam airline alliance in March 2014.
SkyTeam has also announced that the membership of Garuda was “on track.”
“Garuda has worked hard to meet the membership criteria required by SkyTeam, including implementing a new IT platform, and we look forward to welcoming the airline in March next year,” said SkyTeam Managing Director Michael Wisbrun.
Garuda will become the 20th member of SkyTeam. SkyTeam currently includes 19 member airlines with some major members being Delta, KLM, Air France, China Airlines and Korean Air.
Virgin Atlantic is also reportedly considering joining SkyTeam.
