Hawaiian Airlines now offers Apple iPad Minis for rent in its economy class, effective September 1, on its Boeing 767 flights to Hawaii. The tablets will be complimentary in business class.
The tablets will be offered for a rental fee of $15 if reserved at the departure gate and $17 if obtained in-flight.
The iPad Minis will replace the seatback in-flight entertainment systems on the 767s. Hawaiian’s tablets will offer content including over 100 hours of the latest Hollywood movies, television shows and a variety of interactive games.
Hawaiian Airlines, stated in its press release that it has purchased nearly 1,500 iPad Minis for use on its 14 Boeing 767 aircraft flying on 14 routes.
Hawaiian’s Boeing 767 routes in the US include flights between Honolulu and Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, Seattle and Phoenix, and between Kahului and San Jose, Oakland and Seattle.
